We offer full roof surveys using drone technology, giving us a clear view of any roof, however large, awkwardly shaped, or difficult to access. Every survey includes photos, video walkthroughs, and diagrams, collated into a written report detailing the existing condition of the roof, along with proposals for any work needed and full costings.
We also use drones on standard site visits where part of a roof simply can't be seen safely from the ground or by ladder — including for customers who've recently bought a property and want a clear picture of what they're taking on. Alongside the survey itself, drones let us capture aerial footage of projects before, during, and after work — footage and photos we're happy to share with clients free of charge once a project's complete.
Where more detail on the roof's construction is needed, we can also carry out a core sample test — a small section taken with a core drill down to the joists, fire-safety tested and patched over, giving us an accurate read on the existing build-up and moisture levels within the materials.

No. Plenty of people have a survey purely to understand the condition of a roof, often after buying a property. If you would like a quotation we are happy to provide one, but the decision is entirely yours.
In practice, yes — a drone handles large, steep, awkwardly shaped, and hard-to-reach roofs without scaffold or ladders. On sites where flying is restricted we will say so up front and survey by other means.
Most domestic roofs take under an hour on site. Larger commercial roofs take longer depending on the area and the number of details to record. The written report follows afterwards.
